Re-register the required fonts:
- From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
- Click Appearance and Personalization.
- Click the Fonts icon.
- In the Fonts window, find and double-click each of these TrueType fonts to re-register them*
- Arial
- Arial Bold
- Arial Bold Italic
- Arial Italic
- Verdana
- Verdana Bold
- Verdana Bold Italic
- Verdana Italic
Note: If any of these 8 fonts are missing, fail to open, or generate an error message, run the Windows System File Checker. This will scan and repair all missing or damaged files, which can take some time.
- Restart your computer, and then open TurboTax.
* Windows 7 users with Region and Language settings other than United States may need to "unhide" these fonts. Here's how:
- From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
- Click Appearance and Personalization.
- Click Change Font Settings (under Fonts).
- Clear the checkbox Hide fonts based on language settings, then click OK.
- Resume at Step 3 ("Click the Fonts icon") in the first set of instructions and proceed.
