Error 4099 occurs when installing .NET 2.0:

Windows Installer is not installed properly on computer.

There is a problem with the Windows Installer on your computer.

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Cancel TurboTax installation (if necessary).
  2. Click here to save the Window Installer download to your desktop.
  3. Double-click the download to install it on your computer.
  4. Close open windows and programs.
  5. Install TurboTax.
