Error 2203 occurs when installing or updating TurboTax for Windows or Mac:
The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package.
This error can occur if security software or backup software is running.
Solution
On Windows Vista, try right-clicking the TurboTax icon and select Run as Administrator.
If that didn't work, or if you're not using Vista, follow these steps:
- Log on to your computer with Administrator rights. Windows | Mac
- Temporarily disable your online backup or security software.
- Install (or update) TurboTax.
- Now enable or turn on your online backup or security software.
If the problem persists while attempting to update through TurboTax, download and install a manual update instead.
