Error 117: "There was an error in loading your file"

Error 117 occurs if TurboTax cannot find your tax file:
There was an error in loading your file. The file was not found. Please select another file.
Possible Causes
Often this error occurs if you saved your tax return on a portable device (e.g., a flash drive), and then removed the device. TurboTax cannot find your return because the device was removed.
Note: Saving your tax return directly to a portable device (e.g., USB flash drive) can corrupt your tax data file. Instead, save the return to your computer's desktop, and then copy the return to the device.
Solution
Follow these steps:
- Attach the device to your computer.
- Find your tax return on the device.
- Retrieve it by copying it from the device to your computer's hard drive.
- Open your tax return in TurboTax by choosing Open Tax Return from the TurboTax File menu. (Do not double-click your tax file to open it.)
