Error: "Failed to extract archive"

The message Failed to extract archive occurs when attempting to install a TurboTax software download or a manual update. It is caused by a damaged file that got corrupted while it was being downloaded.
Solution
- Delete the downloaded file.
- Turn off virus protection software.
- Disable your firewall.
- Download your TurboTax program or your manual update again. (Remember to re-enable your virus-protection and firewall after a successful installation.)
If problems persist, you may need to restart your computer in selective startup mode to completely disable your virus-protection and firewall programs.
