Depending on the availability of these documents from your financial institution and employer, this feature will be accessible in TurboTax on January 1, 2013.
How to import
TurboTax Online will prompt you to import at appropriate places as you proceed through the interview.
For example, when you get to the Wages & Income section, you'll be given the opportunity to import your W-2 form and other tax documents such as Forms 1099-INT and 1099-DIV.
You can also initiate import at any time by doing this:
- Sign in to TurboTax Online.
- Click the Federal Taxes tab and choose Wages & Income right below it. (Home & Business: Click the Personal tab, and then click Personal Income.)
- Choose Explore on My Own if asked how you want to go through the Income section.
- Click View to the right of the first topic, Import Summary.
- Click Add W-2 or Add Other Documents, depending on what you want to import.
