"If the numbers don't match your amounts in QuickBooks..." appears on the "Import Complete" screen

Don't worry if the amounts on this screen don't match your amounts in QuickBooks. This is common, and it occurs when the accounting method you use in QuickBooks differs from the accounting method you use in TurboTax.

For example, you might choose the accrual method in QuickBooks to create invoices and bills (a smart way to manage your bookkeeping, by the way) but you choose the cash method when preparing your taxes so you're not paying tax on income you haven't received yet.

The good news is, you don't need to change your bookkeeping or tax reporting method for the purposes of completing an accurate tax return.
