To check for Mac OS X updates, follow these steps. You must be connected to the Internet to perform this procedure.

Click the System Preferences icon on the dock.
In the System Preferences window, click Software Update.
In the Software Update window, click Check Now or Show Updates.
Follow the instructions to install updates.
