Do I have to buy a new TurboTax program every year?

Yes. Every year, tax laws and forms change, and in turn, we have to completely revise TurboTax to comply with the current federal and state requirements.

Because TurboTax is designed for a specific tax year, you need TurboTax 2011 to file your 2011 tax return. You cannot update, upgrade, or convert an earlier version of TurboTax to TurboTax 2011.

TurboTax 2011 can be purchased from retail stores starting in mid-November 2011 through mid-April 2012, or and year-round at www.turbotax.com.
