Do I have to buy a new TurboTax program every year?

Well, you don't have to buy anything, but if you want to use TurboTax to prepare your 2012 taxes, then yes, you do.

Every year laws change, tax forms get updated, and new tax forms are created. On top of that, we redesign parts of the program to make your tax preparation experience easier than ever.

Because TurboTax is built for a specific tax year, you will need TurboTax 2012 to file your 2012 tax return. There is no way to update, upgrade, or convert an earlier version to TurboTax 2012.

TurboTax can be purchased at retail stores from November through mid-April or year-round at www.turbotax.com.
