Can I delete my tax return in TurboTax Online?

If you have started a return and not finished or filed it, you may delete or clear it from our service. How to clear your federal and state tax information

However, if you have finished your return -- this means completed and paid for our tax preparation services – Intuit is required to keep copies of it, similar to the requirements placed on an accountant or other in-person tax preparers. Each October, at the end of filing season, we convert your return into .pdf for storage.  You can then print copies for later use.  For your convenience, we also keep a copy ready for you to import into next year’s return.

We define completed as TurboTax Online returns that are paid for by credit or debit card, refund processing services, or service code, or were registered through the Freedom Edition website.
