Add Forms to Your Return

To add a form to your return, select your version of TurboTax, and then follow the steps:

Add a form in TurboTax Desktop

You can add a form to your return using either the EasyStep/Step-by-Step Interview or forms method.

Interview method

To add a form to your return, find the topic, and then proceed through the section. TurboTax creates the form in the background automatically, while you answer questions.

Forms method

Windows

  1. Switch to Forms mode by clicking on the Forms button at the top-right of the program,
  2. From the Forms menu, select Open a Form. The Open a Form list (under Options) shows all federal (or state) forms available in your TurboTax program.
  3. Choose a form, and then select Open.

Mac

  1. Switch to Forms mode by clicking on the Forms button at the top-left of the program,
  2. From the Forms menu, select  Open a Form. The Open Form window shows all federal (or state) forms available in your TurboTax program.
  3. Select the form, and then select Open.

Note: In the Open Form window, supporting forms and worksheets are listed under their main forms. An exception is the Federal Information Worksheet listed under Form 1040 (for a personal tax return), or under the main form (for a business tax return).
