What is Form 1040-ES used for?

Form 1040-ES is used to submit quarterly estimated taxes to the IRS. If you need to pay estimated tax, TurboTax will prepare four 1040-ES vouchers, numbered consecutively from 1 to 4, for payments due quarterly. They apply to the following tax year, so make sure to use the current tax year version of TurboTax to generate these forms for the next year.
