After printing your tax return to be paper-filed, a DO NOT FILE watermark appears on each printed page.
Possible Causes and Solutions
Federal Return
If you print your tax return in the Preview area of the File section, it will print with the DO NOT FILE watermark.
Keep going through the e-file process until you have transmitted your return. Afterward, you'll be able to print a records copy of your return, without the watermark.
State Return
DO NOT FILE on your state return printout can occur when:
- You paid for TurboTax using Refund Processing; and
- Your e-filed federal return has not yet been accepted; and
- You're paper-filing your state return.
Wait until your federal return is accepted; once it is, you'll be able to print your state return without any watermarks.
