The IRS recently announced tax relief for certain individuals and businesses located in Louisiana and Mississippi that were affected by Hurricane Isaac.

TurboTax Online
If you downloaded your return as a .tax2011 file before the shutdown
- If you didn't complete your return, click here to purchase the CD/Download software.
- Install your software. Windows instructions | Mac instructions
- Open your TurboTax program. From the File menu (Windows) or TurboTax menu (Mac), select Open Tax Return.
- Browse to where you saved the .tax2011 file.
- Select the .tax2011 file, and then select Open.
- From the File menu (Windows) or TurboTax menu (Mac), choose Save.
- Continue working on your 2011 return. Although you won't be able to e-file, you'll be able to file a paper return.
If you did NOT download your return as a .tax2011 file before the shutdown
You'll need to use the TurboTax CD/Download software to file your return.
- If you didn't complete your return, click here to purchase the CD/Download software.
- Install your software. Windows instructions | Mac instructions
- Open your TurboTax program and start a new return. Although you won't be able to e-file, you'll be able to file a paper return.
