Lost Your TurboTax Easy Extension User ID, Password or Security Answer?

We've made it easy to retrieve your forgotten TurboTax Easy Extension login information, while still keeping your tax data safe and secure.

If you’ve forgotten your User ID, we can look it up and send it to you.
- On the TurboTax Easy Extension Sign In screen, click the I have a TurboTax account link (see image below).
- Choose Forgot your User ID?
- On the Let's get you signed in... screen (see image below), enter the email address you used to create your account.
- Click the Continue button. We'll email your user ID(s) to you (see image below).
- When you receive your email, enter your User ID into the field on the Easy Extension Sign In page then click Sign In.
- If you didn't receive your email with your user ID after 20 minutes, your spam filter may have blocked it. Try adding no-reply@turbotaxextenexpress.com to your email safe senders list. Your email Help, Options or Preferences folder can show you how to do this.
- If you've added no-reply@turbotaxextenexpress.com to your safe senders list, but you still haven't received your email, please contact us.
If you’ve forgotten your password, we can help you change it to a new one. For your protection, we do not email an existing password; you must reset it.
- On the TurboTax Easy Extension Sign In screen, click the I have a TurboTax account link (see image below).
- Choose Forgot your Password?
- On the Let's get you signed in... screen (see image below), enter your User ID.
- Click the Continue button.
- Answer a security question to help us verify your identity and keep your account safe.
- Choose a new password. After you choose a new password, we email you a link to confirm your new password.
- Once you confirm your new password, you’re ready to sign in to TurboTax Easy Extension.
If you forgot your password and you cannot remember the answer to your security question, we can still help you. Just follow these steps:
- Click here for our Contact Us page.
- Click on Buying/Billing/Account then Logging in to Your Account.
- Scroll down to Contact Options: How would you like to contact us?
- Choose either: Online Chat - or - Call Us.
- Complete the form and click the Chat Now (or Get Phone Number) button.
- Be prepared to provide one or more of these items:
- First and Last Name
- Easy Extension User ID, if known
- Email address used for your Easy Extension account
- Daytime phone number
- Other proof of identity
