If you need extra time to file your tax return, TurboTax Business can help you prepare Form 7004: Application for Automatic Extension.
- Automatic extensions are available for a six-month period for corporations and S-corporations, and a five-month period for partnerships, estates and trusts.
- You must print and mail the extension application, Form 7004. Extension applications cannot be e-filed.
- Make sure that you update your TurboTax software before filing an extension so that you have the most recent TurboTax Business forms installed on your computer.
- Tax payments are due on the regular due date for the type of business return you're filing.
Important: Although you can apply for an extension to file a tax return, there is no extension for any tax payments that are due. The IRS may charge interest and penalties for all late payments.
