What is meant by "commuting"?

Travel between your home and main workplace is commuting and is therefore not deductible. If you do not have a main workplace or home office, travel between your home and the first place you go and between the last place you go and home is also considered commuting.

If you go from home to a temporary work or training site, or if your home is your main workplace and you go from there to a client site, the travel is not commuting and may be deductible.
