Open your 2012 tax return in TurboTax.
In TurboTax, find the topic recapture education deduction. (Use this exact phrase to search.)
TurboTax will take you to the screen Any Education Deductions or Credits in 2011? Answer Yes.
The next screen will then ask you if you received a refund of educational expenses. Answer Yes again and then continue following the on-screen instructions.
