How to change the choice of Education Credit or Deduction

1. In the search box (If you are using a Mac, select Search Topics), type letme and then click Find.
2. This will take you to the Education and Deductions Screen, where it will ask if you want to change the automatic calculation the program made. Select Yes.
   Note: If you have not selected this credit as part of your return, it will say, This topic doesn't apply to you because you haven't entered any education expenses on your tax return.
3. The next screen will let you know that you are changing the option that was automatically calculated.
4. The final screen will have you choose between which type of credit or the deduction.

Note: You still need to qualify for the credit or deduction.
