When will my TurboTax download be available?
TurboTax federal product downloads are usually available starting in mid-November.
Although a handful of TurboTax State downloads are available in early December, the majority of State product is released early- to mid-January (varies by state).
Is the TurboTax download the same as the CD-ROM product?
Yes. When you download, you get exactly the same TurboTax software that comes on the CD.

Is it easy to download TurboTax?
Yes! Just follow these three simple steps:
- After completing your purchase, click the Download Now link on the Thank You page. This will take you to your My Downloads page. You can download immediately or return to this page to download later.
- Save the download file to your computer (we recommend saving it to the desktop).
- When the download is finished, double-click the TurboTax icon on your computer to install.
How do I enable my browser to accept cookies?
Some Intuit Web sites require you to set your browser to accept cookies.
Can I download TurboTax directly to a storage disk?
Although you cannot download TurboTax directly to a storage disk (e.g., CD or flash drive), you can download TurboTax to your hard drive, and then write (burn) the downloaded file to a CD or flash drive.
What if I need to stop the download or if the transfer is interrupted?
You can stop the download at any time. Visit the My Downloads page to resume the download from where you left off. Even if you're download is interrupted, you won't have to start from the beginning. We'll ask you to set up an account when you check out to enable this feature.
What happens if my computer crashes or I buy a new computer?
You're covered. Visit the My Downloads page to download TurboTax again free of charge. Be sure to use the same User ID and password that you used when you first purchased this TurboTax product.

How do I find the file I downloaded?
If you chose not to install your product immediately after downloading it, you must find the folder where the file was downloaded and double-click it to install.
If you do not recall the file download location:
- Click Start, point to Find (or Search), and then select Files or Folders.
- In the Named field, enter the name of the file to be found. The file name varies depending on which program you downloaded.
- In the Look in field, select My Computer. The box Include Subfolders should be checked.
- Click Find Now or OK to begin the search. Windows will display a window with the search results listed. Once you have located the file, make a note of its location. You can double-click the file from the search results window to begin installing TurboTax.
What if I don't see the TurboTax download in My Downloads account?
Make sure you are logging in with the correct User ID and password. If you have multiple Intuit accounts, you may need to check all of them to find your download. Or, contact us.
Can I download TurboTax more than once?
Yes, you can download TurboTax as many times as you need to. It's available in your account for three years from the date of purchase.
What if I uninstall TurboTax, but then need to download the program again?
No problem, just download the program again. Go to the My Downloads page and download TurboTax free of charge. You can download TurboTax as many times as you need to for three years from the date of purchase.
