Certain customers, who claimed an American Opportunity Credit on their Federal return, may have filed an incorrect state tax return.
TurboTax has fixed this issue.
How to tell if you are impacted:
You may be affected if ALL of the following are true:
- You filed a 2010 Oregon Income Tax Return prior to September 21, 2011 AND
- On your Federal Return
- You filed Single and had Adjusted Gross Income from Form 1040, Line 38, greater than $65,000 OR
- You filed Married Filing Joint and had Adjusted Gross Income from Form 1040, Line 38, greater than $130,000 AND
- You had an American Opportunity Credit on your Federal Form 1040, Line 66
If you are affected, you may have underpaid your state tax. You will need to amend your state tax return.
