Solution

To resolve this error:

Navigate to the Global folder:
- Windows 7 or Vista: C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Common\Update Service\v2\Global\
- Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit\Common\Update Service\v2\Global\
Note: The Application Data or Program Data folders might be hidden. You can unhide them by clicking here and following the instructions.
Right-click the Global.db file and select Rename.
Change the name to Global.old.db.
Launch TurboTax and try updating again.
