Form SS-4, Application for Employer Identification Number

Form SS-4 is used to apply for an Employer Identification Number (EIN). An EIN is a 9-digit number which is assigned to businesses, trusts, and estates to establish business tax accounts with the IRS.

Entering Form SS-4 in TurboTax.

In TurboTax, click on the Federal Taxes group and then the Other Tax Situations category
Scroll down to the Other Tax Forms section and click the Start or Update button to the right of Miscellaneous Tax forms
Click Start or Update next to Application for Employer Identification Number (EIN)
