Resolved:Unable to E-file Due to Negative Business Use Percentage

If you use a vehicle for business and you do not have records of personal mileage driven for the vehicle, TurboTax will use a special allocation to determine your business use percent.

For vehicles that were placed in service for business use after 12/15/2013, the business use percent was incorrectly calculating as a negative amount.

This error was prevent e-filing.

Who Was Affected?

If you meet all of the following you may have been affected by this issue:

Started using vehicle for business on or after 12/16/2012.
Chose to use Standard Mileage Deduction for vehicle expense.
You do not have records of personal miles driven for the whole year.

Solution:

This issue has been resolved in a TurboTax update that was released on 2/7/2013.
