Virginia 2010: Part-Year Return Exemption Amount May Be Incorrect

Certain customers, who filed a part-year Virginia return, may not have the correct prorated exemption amount (Form 760PY, line 14) on their state tax return.
TurboTax has fixed this issue.
How to tell if you are impacted
You may be affected if ALL of the following are true:
- You filed a 2010 part-year Virginia tax return (Form 760PY) prior to February 5, 2011 AND
- Your Virginia filing status was married, filing joint return or married, filing separately on this combined return AND
- Only one spouse was a full-year Virginia resident AND
- The other spouse was a part-year resident of Virginia and had income from Virginia and from another state
If you are affected, you may have underpaid your Virginia tax. You will need to amend your Virginia tax return.
