Virginia 2010: Certain Customers with Long Term Care Credit Carryover May Have Incorrect Return

For certain customers, the TurboTax product may not have correctly calculated the Virginia credit for purchase of long-term care insurance.
The issue has been fixed.
How to tell if you are impacted
You may be affected if ALL of the following are true:
- You filed a Virginia return prior to March 15, 2011 AND
- You paid long-term health care premiums in 2010 AND
- Your long-term health care insurance policy purchase date is before January 1, 2010 AND
- Your 2009 Virginia return showed a long term care credit carryover to tax year 2010 (Virginia Schedule CR, page 4, Line 84)
If you are affected, you may have overpaid your Virginia tax. You will need to amend your Virginia tax return.
