Certain customers, who had a Homestead Property Tax Credit, may have filed an incorrect tax return.
TurboTax has fixed this issue.
How to tell if you may be impacted
You may be affected if ALL of the following are true:
- You filed a 2010 Michigan Income Tax Return prior to September 21, 2011 AND
- You received a Homestead Property Tax Credit on MI-1040, Line 24 AND
- You were not a full-year resident of Michigan AND
- Your Homestead was NOT located in Michigan
If you are affected, you may have underpaid your state tax. You will need to amend your state tax return.
