If you want to amend a return, you must use the version of TurboTax from that year.
Note: A return can only be amended after it has been filed.The IRS begins accepting 2011 e-filed returns on January 17.
You can only amend prior returns filed in the past three years. Which year do you need to correct?
IMPORTANT: Amended returns can not be e-filed. They must be printed and mailed.
We strongly recommend that you amend both your federal and your state return.
Changes you make in your federal amended return often will affect your state return.
The IRS requires eight to 12 weeks to process amended returns. State timelines vary.
There is no charge to amend a return you filed using TurboTax.
