TurboTax for iPad allows you to e-file a balance due tax return. If you owe money to the IRS or your state, here is how to pay your balance due.
On the How Do You Want to Pay Your Federal Taxes? screen, we will tell you what you owe and allow you to choose a payment method. After you choose your payment method, you must confirm your identity with an e-fling PIN.

Withdraw money from your bank account through Direct Debit
To pay taxes due through direct debit, follow these steps on the How Do You Want to Pay Your Federal Taxes? screen:
- Next to Withdraw the money from my bank account with direct debit, tap the radio button.
- On the Schedule Your Payment screen, enter your bank account information. If you do not have printed checks or you are missing any needed information, contact your bank directly for help.
- After you enter the required info, tap Continue.
Mail a check
To pay taxes due with a check sent by mail, follow these steps :
- On the How Do You Want to Pay Your Federal Taxes? screen, tap the radio button (next to I will mail a check) then tap the Continue button (at the bottom of the screen).
- On The IRS Needs to Confirm... screen, enter your new e-filing PIN from the IRS, then tap the Continue button. Note: You may choose another method to confirm your identity, as noted on the app screen.
- On the Sign Your 2011 Return screen, read the disclosure and fill in the fields, then tap the Continue button
- On the Review Your Federal Filing Choices screen, select Edit next to any section you wish to change. When you are ready to e-file, tap the Continue button.
- You will now e-file your tax return with a balance due.

Request an installment payment plan
To request an installation plan, follow these steps :
- On the How Do You Want to Pay Your Federal Taxes? screen, tap the radio button (next to I want to request an installment payment plan). Read the options to pay your balance due then tap the Continue button (at the bottom of the screen).
- Read Additional Info About an Installment Agreement Request then tap the Continue button to complete an Installment Agreement Request.
- Enter your Telephone Information, as required by the IRS, then tap the Continue button.
- Answer the question about Your Contact Information by tapping the radio button next to the correct answer and enter the best time to contact you. Tap the Continue button.
- Provide Other Information the IRS Needs (on your bank and employer) then tap the Continue button.
- Enter your Payment Information in the fields, then tap the Continue button.
- On the How Do You Want to Pay? screen, tap the radio button next to your choice (Direct Debit or Mail a Check).
- If you choose Direct Debit, enter your bank account information. If you do not have printed checks or you are missing any needed information, contact your bank directly for help. After you enter your bank account info, tap the Continue button.
- Your Installment Payment Request is now complete. When you are ready to e-file, tap the Continue button.
