When entering a correctly-formatted date of birth into TurboTax Home & Business, some customers may see the following error message:
Date must be entered as mm/dd/yyyy

Windows XP Solution
- In Windows XP, click Start > Control Panel.
- Click Date, Time, Language and Regional Options.
- Click Regional and Language Options.
- Click Customize.
- Click the Date tab.
- Update the Short date format by setting it to mm/dd/yyyy.
Windows Vista/7 Solution
- Click on the Start button
- Open the Control Panel
- Select Clock, Language, and Region
- Click Date and Time.
- On the Date and Time tab, click the Change Date and Time button.
- In the Date and Time Settings dialog box, click the Change calendar settings link.
- The Customize Format window will pop up, with the Date tab selected.
- Update the Short date format by setting it to mm/dd/yyyy.
